Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
The Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) allow you to save by using before-tax money to pay for many common expenses. Each year, you specify how much you want to contribute to an FSA (up to specified limits), which is deducted from your paycheck in installments. Eligible expenses are reimbursed from your FSA. Because the money isn’t taxed, you save.
There are two FSAs available:
- Health Care FSA: For qualified health care expenses that aren’t reimbursed by another benefit plan
- Dependent Care FSA: For qualified expenses in connection with day care for a child or adult dependent so that you and your spouse/domestic partner can work or look for work
