Health Savings Account (HSA)

Return to Home

A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-advantaged medical savings account that helps you pay for medical products and services not paid for by the Consumer Health Plan or the Kaiser HMO with HSA. You can use the money now or save it for future health care expenses. Over time, it’s a great way to build a nest egg to pay for health care in retirement. Corning contributes to your HSA if you open an account through Optum Financial.

Because HSAs offer tax advantages, the IRS regulates who may contribute and how much. In general, Corning employees enrolled in the Consumer Health Plan or the Kaiser HMO with HSA (California employees only) may open an HSA through Optum Financial and receive a company contribution. Check your Medical Plan Benefit Handbook/SPD for details.
